I love live music. Whether it be heading into a dark bar or catching it outside on a beautiful summer day, a good concert can’t be beat. What’s better than a free concert featuring national acts? Not much that I can think of, unless they provide free drinks as well. While the second part might only be a dream, here are two opportunities locally to enjoy free music.
Southern Comfort brings their underCOVER series to Madison October 8. Ghostland Observatory will perform a free show for those that sign up for SoCo text alert. Texting ‘MADISON’ to 68405 gets you and a friend into the show. You can also register online for free tickets. This basically replaces the SoHo Music Experience that brought big-name bands to Madison the past few summers (my review from last year).
Summerfest organizers want your thoughts on their annual festival, and they are willing to provide you with a free pair of tickets in 2010 in exchange. Simply fill out the survey on their site and you can check out the state’s biggest festival next summer.
