Sunday Service
And on the 7th day, God rested.
Who can argue with logic? If it’s good enough for the big man, it’s good enough for me.
Not to leave those that have been reading high and dry, (and for my atheist friends) here is a love limerick. Normal broadcasting resumes tomorrow.
Trying to find love
Is like trying to get sex
from a dead hooker.
More good news for silly music fans
Jonathan Coulton was just the beginning. Now it’s business time.
Flight of the Conchords will play Overture Center for the Arts on April 26. No ticket prices are yet listed, and the tickets are not yet available on Overture’s web site.
The Grammy Award-winning duo from New Zealand gained notoriety in part due to their successful HBO show named after the band. She show recently began its second season.
So what’s your favorite Conchords song or moment? Post your thoughts in the comments.

UPDATE: BND now NOT closing?
Apparently the owner had a change of heart.
The Bar Next Door staff now reports that they will stay open for the next month while management renovaes the Coliseum bar.
This is a complete turnaround from what management told employees on Thursday. I’m still waiting for confirmation from the owners before I post more. Stay tuned.
Bar Next Door Closing
Multiple sources have reported that Saturday night will be the last night that Capone’s Bar Next Door will be open before shutting down and reopening February 21 as a steak house. The staff was alerted today that Saturday would be their last day of normal operation.
Come one, come all for one last glorious night, and watch for my piece about the pub Tuesday on Dane101.com
NaNoWriMo, update 2
It doesn’t take much to reignite a spark.
While in Milwaukee visiting friends last weekend, a buddy asked me how novel writing month was going. I was a bit dejected as I was significantly behind where I hoped to be.
“Well, what is your story about,” he asked me.
I broke into my standard explanation of the plot – a child is hit by a car while playing with friends and is in a coma for years. Doctors eventually find a way to try and bring the now-man out of his coma, and that’s where the fun starts.
And that’s when it happened. I was reenergized about writing just by explaining the plot to a friend.

Just Another Guy in Guyland
Tony Dokoupil wrote a great article about the floundering 20-something generation of men entitled “Why I Am Leaving Guyland.” Dokoupil discusses the changing landscape of men nearing 30, as more choose to stay single and continue to live like they did in college. Dokoupil is the exception to the rule, choosing to settle down at the age of 27. Best quote from the article:
According to a study released last month by the Parents Television Council, prime-time broadcast audiences are three times more likely to hear about people having sex with pets, corpses or two other people simultaneously than they are to see a blissed-out married couple between the sheets.
Troubles continue
Still having issues with the latest version of WordPress. I plan to move the site to new webhosting soon which may help with some of the probems I am currently dealing with. I am also working on a complete redesign of the site, just because it needs one.
If you stop by and the site is down, this is why. I will post a new update once everything is koshar again Thanks for your patience.
Impeachment?
A great discussion from “Countdown” about the possibility of impeachment of President Bush as brought up by Representative Dennis Kucinich.
Issues
I’m currently having issues with the latest version of Wordpres (2.5) publishing anything with images and videos. I am working to correct the problem, and plan to have some fresh posts once this is working correctly. If anyone has any suggestions, please post them in the comments.
Seven Habits of Highly Effective Spaceship Captains
I came across the extra-geeky list “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Spaceship Captains” via Lifehacker. My personal favorite (althought #3 is also good with some gender reversal):
2. Always shoot first. Every good leader should be willing to do what he or she asks of her team. One of the reasons for the loyalty of the ragtag crew of Serenity, the ship Malcolm Reynolds captains in Firefly, is that Mal will throw himself into battle to protect his team. Whenever he has a crazy scheme or rescue mission in mind, he takes the first plunge. Lesson learned? Show your crew that you’re willing to take a bullet for them, and they’ll do the same for you.

A perfect segway for something coming a little later this week. Ah, but you’ll just have to wait for that.

Yar, it be “Talk Like a Pirate Day”
September 19th be “Talk Like a Pirate Day” worldwide. The most obvious question may be “WHY?!?!” According to the official “Talk Like a Pirate Day” website FAQ:
Why not?
Talking like a pirate is fun. It’s really that simple. It adds a zest, a swagger, to your every day conversation. Do you need another reason?
Try it out. Let go, have a beer, burp in public. Say “Aarrr!!” Feels good, doesn’t it?
Among other things, the site offers pirate pickup lines for male and female pirates. So celebrate, enjoy and have fun. Arrr.
